And indecently close to death’s heels came Sorodin’s bereaved relatives, his business manager, and all those others who, their grief not entirely untinged with greed, anxiously awaited the reading of the great man’s will. A propitious moment for Sébastien, valet and companion extraordinary to Sorodin, to step in with some jolting surprises for the assembled “mourners.” One of the jolts is a letter he produces making it clear that Paul Sorodin was not all he had seemed—which is a fine and merry way to start off a Coward play. Also on hand with a few revelations of their own are: an eccentric Russian Princess, an ex-show girl, an Eleventh Hour Immersionist and a silent, but very effective gentleman named Fabrice.
